The largest of the three lakes, and the first
one we established six years ago. The lake is around 2 acres, with an island, reed and lily beds. Although the lake is man made the margins are well grown and offer good fishing. It is well stocked with a variety of fish.
Carp; mirror and common to 11 lb
Tench; green and gold to 5 lb
Chub to 2 lb
Bream to 1½ lb
Rudd to 1½ lb
Roach to 1 lb
There are 28 well spaced out pegs, and the depth of the lake varies from 4.6 to 6 feet.
It fishes well in the margins, or up against the island. Best baits to use are maggots, pellets, corn and meat. Bread and dog biscuits on top work well on a warm summer's evening.
